Global Ragon-Africa Scholars Program Launched for Internal Community

The Ragon Institute is proud to announce the launch of our new initiative, the Global Ragon-Africa Scholars Program (GRASP), generously supported by the Virginia Wellington Cabot Foundation.

GRASP provides scholarships of up to $5,000 in travel and seed funding, offering Ragon-based graduate students, postdoctoral fellows, research scientists, and administrative staff opportunities to directly engage with African-led research projects. Participants will travel to African research sites affiliated with the Ragon Institute, primarily in KwaZulu-Natal, South Africa, to collaborate closely with colleagues addressing pressing health challenges such as HIV, tuberculosis, reproductive health, and emerging infectious diseases.

This innovative program aligns with Ragon International’s core principles—cutting-edge research, international collaboration, and capacity strengthening. By fostering cross-continental partnerships, GRASP scholars will return with enriched perspectives, contributing significantly to their ongoing research and supporting global health equity.
