Ragon Grad Students Awarded Jeffrey Modell Prize

Anusha Nathan (left) and Leonard Zettey (right) were each recipients of the 2025 Jeffrey Modell Prize.

The Ragon is proud to recognize graduate students and alumni Anusha Nathan of the Gaiha Lab and Leonard Zettey of the Shalek Lab, who have each been honored with the prestigious Jeffrey Modell Prize.

The ceremony presenting the award was held April 30 on the Harvard campus.

This award, conferred jointly by the Jeffrey Modell Foundation (JMF) and the Harvard Medical School Graduate Committee of Immunology, recognizes HMS graduates for outstanding achievements in their doctoral research and overall excellence in immunology. The JMF, established by Vicki and Fred Modell in memory of their son Jeffrey, who passed away from complications of Primary Immunodeficiency, is dedicated to supporting research, education, and advocacy to improve the diagnosis and treatment of immune disorders.

The award was previously given to Ragon graduate student Sophie Giguere, PhD, last year, as well as faculty members and Early Independence Fellows Charles Evavold, PhD, in 2021, and Wilfredo Garcia-Beltran, PhD, in 2016, underscoring the continued excellence and impact of our researchers.

Congratulations Anusha and Leonard!
