The Ragon Institute is proud to announce that Gaurav Gaiha, MD, DPhil, has been awarded the prestigious HST Seidman Prize for MD Research Mentorship. Presented annually by the Harvard-MIT Health Sciences and Technology (HST) program, this award recognizes a faculty member for their outstanding research mentorship of an HST MD student.

Established in 2009 by an alumnus of HST’s MD program, the Seidman Prize honors Christine and Jonathan Seidman for their inspirational mentorship. Christine Edry Seidman, MD, is the Thomas W. Smith Professor of Medicine and Genetics at Harvard Medical School (HMS) and Brigham and Women’s Hospital, while Jonathan G. Seidman, PhD, holds the Henrietta B. and Frederick H. Bugher Foundation Professorship of Genetics at HMS.

Gaiha, a core faculty member at the Ragon Institute, is known for his groundbreaking immunological research and his exceptional dedication to mentoring medical students and young physician-scientists. Under his guidance, trainees such as recent Jeffrey Modell Prize recipient Anusha Nathan, PhD, have achieved remarkable success, significantly advancing the fields of immunology and infectious disease research.

The HST Seidman Prize celebrates mentors whose tireless efforts shape the future of medical research through dedicated, inspirational mentorship.

Congratulations, Dr. Gaiha, on this well-deserved honor!
