The Ragon Institute is delighted to congratulate Aaron Schmidt, PhD, a core member at the Ragon and an associate professor of Microbiology at Harvard Medical School, on being selected as one of the honorees of the 2024-25 Everett I. Mendelsohn Excellence in Mentoring Award.

Presented annually by the Harvard Kenneth C. Griffin Graduate School of Arts and Sciences (GSAS), this prestigious award recognizes Harvard faculty members who provide outstanding mentorship and support to graduate students. Recipients are selected from the entire HMS faculty based on nominations from GSAS students, highlighting those who exemplify exceptional dedication to advising and guiding emerging scholars.

The Schmidt Lab focuses on the development of adaptive immune responses, protein evolution, and host-pathogen interactions through structural biology and multidisciplinary approaches. His mentorship has profoundly impacted graduate students, fostering an environment of collaboration, scientific rigor, and continuous learning.
