Ragon Institute

Todd Allen

We are deeply saddened to announce the passing of Ragon Institute faculty member Todd M. Allen, PhD, a pioneering researcher in T cell immunotherapy and HIV evolution and transmission. His groundbreaking work on HIV cure research has left an indelible mark on the field and has been an inspiration to many. In addition to his position at the Ragon, he was also a Professor of Medicine at Harvard Medical School as well as an Associate Member of the Broad Institute of MIT and Harvard.

Dr. Allen was not just a valued scientist and colleague. He was a cornerstone of the Ragon community, having been with us since 2001 and having helped to guide the establishment of the Institute. Beyond his professional achievements that brought him international recognition, Dr. Allen was known for his warmth and generosity as a colleague, friend, husband, and father.

Dr. Allen’s presence at the Ragon Institute will be profoundly missed, and our thoughts are with his family and friends during this difficult time.

A memorial service will be held at 1 PM on Tuesday, September 17, at the Ragon Institute, 600 Main Street, Cambridge, MA 02139. A remote link is available here for those who cannot attend in person: https://partners.zoom.us/j/82353566586
