Employee Resource Groups
RagonWISE (Women In Science Empowerment)
The Ragon Institute’s Women in Science Empowerment group (WISE) provides a supportive network for women and allies to connect, share experiences, and empower each other in the workplace. The group actively addresses challenges women encounter in academic and scientific careers by promoting gender equity, encouraging allyship, and offering career development resources tailored to its members. Through initiatives such as workshops, mentorships, and awareness campaigns, RagonWISE works to foster an inclusive and confident environment where all members feel empowered to pursue equal career opportunities and contribute to a diverse, thriving workplace.
RagonOUT
RagonOUT is the Ragon Institute’s LGBTQAI+ Employee Resource Group, dedicated to fostering an inclusive and supportive environment for members and allies of this community. The group provides a safe space for all, creating visibility and promoting allyship through organized social and volunteer events. Collaborating with Mass General Brigham’s LGBTQAI+ community, RagonOUT enhances queer representation in science and research while advocating for diversity, equity, and inclusion across the Institute. Members engage in community-building initiatives, and through partnerships and active support, RagonOUT champions LGBTQAI+ inclusion and empowerment within the Ragon community.
Community Events
The Ragon Institute fosters a vibrant community through regular events that celebrate both connection and cultural diversity. Monthly Happy Hours offer employees a relaxed setting to unwind, build camaraderie, and strengthen connections across labs and departments. In addition, the Institute honors cultural diversity with events marking significant celebrations such as Lunar New Year and Hispanic Heritage Month. These cultural gatherings enrich the Ragon Institute experience by bringing together staff from diverse backgrounds to share in traditions, foods, and activities, creating an inclusive environment of respect.
