Vivarium

Laboratory mouse work is an essential aspect of the scientific process, and the Ragon Institute is committed to using mice responsibly and ethically. We maintain our Vivarium following strict Institutional Animal Care and Use Committee (IACUC) protocols to provide excellence in our care for the animals.

The Ragon Institute’s Vivarium is a cutting edge, mid-size space, with three thousand cages to hold up to 15,000 mice. The Vivarium includes a surgery room designed for sophisticated surgical procedures in mice. The area is equipped with two In Vivo Imaging Systems (IVIS) and the tissue culture space necessary for the cell processing for the mouse surgical procedures.
